What is AirPrint?

 

AirPrint is Apple's proprietary technology which enables users of iOS devices to print wirelessly to AirPrint-enabled printers without the need to install a printer driver.

With AirPrint, no software or setup is required, so documents, photos and emails can be quickly and easily printed to any AirPrint-enabled Epson printer.

 

Which version of iOS supports AirPrint?

AirPrint is supported on iOS 4.2 or later.

iOS devices are Apple iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

AirPrint works with iPad, iPhone and iPod touch (3rd generation and later) running iOS 4.2 or later.

Which paper size does AirPrint support?

The paper size you can print to is determined by the app you wish to print from.

  • Mail and Safari support A4 Plain Paper.
  • Photos viewer supports 4 x 6 inch Premium Glossy Photo Paper.
 

Why is 'Enable AirPrint' greyed out on WebConfig?

By default Apple AirPrint is activated on inkjet printer models therefore the 'Enable AirPrint' button is greyed out. The 'Enable AirPrint' button will only be available (and appear blue) to click if this has been deactivated which can occur if any of the following settings have been disabled:

  • IPP - Internet Printing Protocol
  • Paper Setup Auto Display
  • Bonjour protocol
 

A blank page is printed when I print a Word document with multiple pages. What can I do?

We recommend converting your document to PDF and trying again.

 

Colour reproduction is different when printing multiple copies of the same photo. What can I do?

Unfortunately due to a restriction of iOS you will need to print the photos individually to receive the correct colour reproduction.

 

I'm unable to update the firmware on my product in order to print using AirPrint. What should I do?

Make sure there are no errors on the product's control panel and that there is no memory card inserted in the product. If there is an error message, see the User's Guide for your product to resolve it.
